Pantheon’s $6bn secondaries close suggests LPs are ordering another round, and Pantheon is happily pouring. The global private markets investor with approximately $84bn in AUM, achieved substantial growth in capital commitments for its eighth secondaries program, Pantheon Global Secondaries Fund VIII, exceeding its $3.5bn target by over 70%. Pantheon raised $3.25bn for its seventh vintage which closed in 2023. The latest fundraise underscores investors’ continued interest in the asset class and the quality of Pantheon’s proprietary deal flow in global mid-market secondary opportunities. The raise is a vote of confidence in secondaries at scale, and in Pantheon’s ability to source mid-market deals that others struggle to reach. After deploying roughly $3.35bn across 17 transactions last year, the firm will put the new capital to work across both LP-led and GP-led opportunities. Fancy another double? It’s on the house.
