In a move that quite literally gets retirement real, Invesco Ltd. has launched the Invesco Core Plus Real Estate Trust, a daily-valued collective investment trust engineered for defined contribution plans, bringing core-plus private real estate exposure into 401(k)-style menus. The structure blends institutional private property allocations with passive U.S. REIT exposure to help manage liquidity, and is designed for integration into target-date funds and managed accounts — effectively translating an asset class long reserved for large pensions into a format built for everyday retirement savers. “Drawing on our decades of real estate expertise, the CIT reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding access to private markets for retirement plan participants,” commented Scott Dennis, Global Head of Private Markets, Invesco. For a market long dominated by public equities and bonds, this is bricks-and-mortar moving onto Main Street balance sheets. After all, if retirement is long term, why shouldn’t it own something built to last?
